Unlike copyleft software licenses, the MIT License allows reuse within proprietary software, provided that all copies of the software or its substantial portions include a copy of the terms of the MIT License and also a copyright notice.
Is this the issue? That you can use the code in your own proprietary stuff? I don't see a problem with that tbh.
I have a very good friend who is very lonely and has gone through a years long, brutal divorce - think living in the same house watching your ex with a new partner weekly, kids, etc - who is now dropping hints of his romantic infatuation with a chatbot he trained. It is legit one of the weirdest, sad, scary and just general ick things I have experienced this close to me.
