It's just a joke, bro

Or is it?

  • That explains some of the instability in Pop!_OS 24.04… Programs suddenly closing, session dying upon unlock. Bluetooth turning on by itself sometimes. Glad to know it isn't haunted, though

  • I reckon both are used with derogatory intent. One, however, is offensive to people. The other is meant for AI and is not deemed offensive

  • Yes, that is true. I should probably touch grass. Not sure why I invest so much time in portraying some sort of character online, deep-fried in layers of irony, like an ogre, unsure of wether to keep going, or break character. Or in which direction to go. Do I double down, or do a 180? Or go in a random direction. I just… should touch grass — lest I suffer irony poisoning

Edit: I'd like to blame the virtual Anglosphere

  • I could look it up on Wikipedia, as a trusted source of information. However, I have since been enlightened as to the misguided nature of my comment, and as such retract my opinion.

  • Dang, you're right. My bad. I can't believe I likened such a bad word to one that carries no such weight. I had not realised this obvious fact, but having been enlightened, I hereby take back everything I have said on that regard, and apologise profoundly.

  • Enlighten me

  • Yeah, I did notice Hydrogen where Helium ought to be. Other than that, though, the rest seems okay far as I know of the periodic table (meaning anything till about Uranium, in order)

  • Do you really not see the similarities between those words, and between their usage? Y'all are quick to jump to using slurs like y'all would be spitting the n-word if it were suddenly a thing anyone could just do normally, no biggy.

  • I can't tell the numbers, but La and Ac being in the main table threw me off, had me suspecting everything was wrong

  • <blockquote>🎵 Nobody call it Gulf of America, but rules don't matter, no 🎵</blockquote> <p>Bakon</p>

  • Nah, the c-word people 'ave been adopting lately feels a whole lot like the n-word, especially within context. Pretty sure you could just replace one for another and it would make as much sense

  • I sure did /s

  • <p>Roses are red</p> <p>Leaves are green</p> <p>I'm not sure</p> <p>What you mean</p> <br> <p>I just want</p> <p>To know one thing</p> <p>Why a poem</p> <p>'bout fava bean</p> <br> <p>What a weird</p> <p>Request this is</p> <p>Makes me think</p> <p>You're suspicious</p> <br> <p>I'm not here</p> <p>to cause terror</p> <p>500 Internal Server Error</p>

  • I wouldn't blame them. She didn't give any indication as to her comment being sarcasm. Might as well have meant it, who knows?

  • The fact that youse folks are so quick to use a slur when you find it "approprate" is disgusting. Seems like y'all just wanns say the n-word so badly and the only thing keeping you from doing so is 500 Internal Server Error

  • Sabrina Carpintera, por el otro lado… pequeña, y dulce

  • <del>

It's a shame that more and more people seem to be okay with using slurs nowadays. You'd think people would know better by now, at least on places like Lemmy…

Edit: I have been enlightened further below and retract this comment

    </ins>

Edit_2.txt: Thanks for the enlightenment, kind stranger

Edit 3: I'd like to clarify none of this was serious. Except for this edit, #3, in which I break character to reveal the whole bit
