  • Being on steam doesnt immediately mean they're trusted

Being on Steam means I'll download the game, and it will run on my stable environment, regardless if the studio closes down or decides the launcher is no longer Linux compatible.

Look to the recent games that were malware stealing from charaties for example

Something that happens once in a blue moon and is immediately caught by Valve? I'm good.

Minecraft is also an example of a off platform trusted game with their own proprietary launchers for Java/bedrock.

Which ends up requiring a third party to maintain a Linux launcher because the official one was sold to Microsoft which makes it problematic... Are you trying to prove my point for me?

  • It's not intentional from the AI companies, but active effort from the brands. It's GEO, the AI equivalent to SEO.

I won't get into the specifics, but its not that hard to influence the AI towards your brand.

Now that they'll start selling ads though, I wonder how things will play out.

  • Your attempt at patriotism could be refuted so fast it goes beyond cringe, its like when a child tells you they're going to meet Santa when they grow up... You just don't want to shatter their little world view.

  • Kate is a thousand times better than Notepad and Notepad++

  • Thunderbird is ready to welcome you back. It never left. Email belongs in a dedicated apllication, not a web frontend

  • You couldn't answer a single point raised lol

  • No. And that's exactly the problem.

You think fostering this narrative over your military is safer/better than the alternative, but it is under this malicious narrative that you're happily delivering aid that you've invaded and sabotaged a lot of countries, all with thunderous applause from your own populace.

but this comic is a window into American minds at large, and needs to be understood as a piece representing the average American starting to turn on the current narrative that would see you, and your country, wherever you are, harmed far worse than anything we've done before.

BOTH of these narratives harm my country and many others. Both of them. Do not attempt to take a moral high ground because your version of your military is got sunshine and rainbows. It's the same fucking deal regardless of the democrat or republican in power, one party is just much more open about it than the other.

  • Sure. So is me not giving them 100% due to their decision of not being in a trusted platform.

  • Are you slow? Do you think I'm defending Musk and Rogan?

I'm saying your military - and your country - is a piece of shit force of evil in this world, and has always been, regardless of your idiot in chief. Any comic painting it as smiling empathetic friends is propaganda.

I can't be any more clear than this.

  • I swear on my mother I'm not joking.

When I was 9 I was riding my bike back from the club, but something was wrong with the wheels so I started walking.

A stereotypical beat down white van stopped next to me, and a stereotypical cartoon bad guy said "hey kid, hop on, I have something to give you"

So how did they try to lure 9 year old me? Ice cream? Games? Chocolate?

An encyclopedia. They claimed to have an encyclopedia to show me.

  • This comic is pure unapologetic propaganda and paints your military as smiling aid giving friends.

    Fuck off.

  • Not on Steam, using their proprietary launcher and careful language about their level of support for Linux.

I know this dance, I'm not falling for it.

  • It won't be "integrated" beyond employees using it to summarize emails.

Elon Musk is once again supporting Trump and allies for the elections, so automatically they needed some way to give him money. This contract is one of the ways.

    The tool itself is useless.

  • They'll ramp up their cringy "good guy USA, remember when we were amazing examples of empathy and world aid?" material.

Their current events have made their image even worse, but their entire culture is based around this illusion of being a shield for the world, so they'll ramp up cringe production to try and save it.

  • It was obviously going to happen. They spent months just to support a single game, and the entire logic behind the app was that the developers would have to manually add support for each and every game. So either they'd be constantly wasting a lot of money chasing the games, or they'd have a useless app that can mod 10 popular games and ignores everything else.

That said, Vortex is a mess with a salad of different mod installation methods, patches on top of patches, and cryptic errors.

  • Our luck was that personal computers existed before phones. The fact computing is open is a miracle.

Microsoft would love to only sell computers with locked bootloaders, enforced DRM, locked down stores. Imagine having to jailbreak your desktop.

  • They don't have to. It's backwards compatible. You can ignore it and we can keep on happily using it.

    Fuck Google, fuck WebP.

  • Google tried to sabotage it in favour of its own WebP standard.

Nobody gives a shit about WebP.
