  • stop uttering communist blasphemy, else democracy will come pay you a visit

  • $1 in 2015 is worth $1.30 today(2023), thus a 30% inflation from 2015 to 2023 ; 1/1.30= 0.76 ; 0.76*10= 7.6 ; thus 7.6% produce 50% of all global emissions. i know its bikini-bottom math but it does help to extrapolate things sometimes ..

  • time on Lemmy well spent

  • true, but some countries like Qatar are wholly relying on oil to exist. Who will it be taxing ? itself ? maybe rest of the world could help tax it by avoiding its products and services (qatari airlines, telecom companies, etc their wealth is disguised under so many forms)

  • i know its kinda inaccurate; they aren't the only one responsible for said emissions: its a whole chain, from crude oil until the finished product. But if they provide oil as a form of energy, they could then be labeled energy companies, and thus they could be hold accountable for not providing clean energy instead. Just a personal mediocre analysis, nothing to be taken serious here..

  • well, there's this thing called ego; when people feel themselves like way important, they like to approach things in a more exotic/exclusive way, which only few people would have access to, to keep nurturing such ego. i wouldn't really like to spend my journey in the bilge of a ship, but i get your point and upon which i agree: commuting in all its forms sucks

  • i dont want to pretend that i own a magnet plate (yet) but i assume each should burner should be equipped with some sensor that detects when the cookware is absent and thus lower the energing powering the coil/capacitors, just enough to quick resume of food heating, and thus ensure smooth temp transition and homogenous cooking

  • lol

i hope i am too. i am not sure why would an induction plate would cost you 2k (€ ?) where i live a 4 cooker induction plate is about 233€, and single cooker ones are 70€, and they are always out of stock..i dont know maybe its due to the gas stove lobby! nonetheless, voicing one's cocncern to manufacturers would help improve said product.

  • no offense, but what do you do to make it to your european tour ? take a balloon ? ..

  • somehow, top french chefs cook over induction. maybe they don't cook rice ? idk :/

  • well, this for instance could be a selling point for premium brands, and with enough competition, even average brands will be compelled to adress this too. just give the free market some time to catch up 😭

    i didn't downvote you btw ..

  • maybe its a design shortcoming: maybe the capacitors or the circuit inside need to stay half energized for exemple to allow you quick resume of your cooking.. i think its better to give makers some leeway and let them know of your feedback in order to improve such devices.

  • too much hot air, enough to cause greenhouse effect .. i am not sure if you left your comment incomplete on purpose to allow me this pun or not lol nonetheless i wish everyone here a ~good~ cold morning/night.

  • they need to exchange love liquids once and a while

  • that should be a post of its own

  • gas stove lobby !

    get an induction plate people!

  • people who work in jobs involvoing such sector should be ashamed
