  • Just a heads up, I feel like the people here who say things like "snikket is easy" are knowledgeable enough to forget what being a beginner is like.

I've been able to get both a Synapse server and a Continuwuity server up and working before I've been able to get anything XMPP working, including snikket. For being the older protocol, XMPP stuff just seems to be harder to find help/tutorials for, at least in my experience so far.

  • I understand the sentiment here but let's note that you do not go buy Skate. because it's free to play.

  • BDSM

    Jump
  • Dices

  • Heh, I've actually moved away from using Google Home stuff because it's shoving Gemini down my throat and it's been worse in the last six months than it was a year ago.

  • Libby also works in Canada.

  • If you let your cat outside, it had better be on a leash.

  • I've seen multiple articles state that Crimson Desert has no microtransactions.

  • I'm willing to give any control scheme a chance. The first time I ever played Dark Souls, or Monster Hunter Tri, both of those felt obtuse. Now they both feel like home.

  • I literally avoid anything on Steam that isn't buying a game or launching a game because everywhere else I've strayed, I see bigoted shit.

Eeeeevery once in a while I'll peek into a game I like's discussion forum and almost without fail I find some bigoted stuff on the front page. Same deal with update/news post comments.

  • Generally speaking, the people complaining are not the people doing the buying.

  • I mean, not really. Nintendo has been fairly consistent about rereleasing old titles for many many years now.

  • Especially in Europe.

  • Cat

    Jump
  • Cat.

  • Premium Lite is already a thing.

  • But why does that mean I should tip?

  • I did not say anything about blind consumer loyalty, so that comment feels strange in the context of this conversation.

  • Why? We don't know anything about this guy. Maybe he was dumped because he was cheating on her, or abusing her, maybe he was kicked out because he hadn't paid rent in six months.

  • If a company shows no respect for its consumers by nickel and diming them for everything, then there is no reason to show a company respect by purchasing its products.

Sure, but there is a difference between not giving them money, and not giving them money but getting their product anyway.

"I don't like your product or practices, so I'm not going to purchase it" is not the same as "I like your product but not your practices, so I'm going to pirate it."

Video games are not exactly a vital good like food.

  • Welcome to Lemmy! Unfortunately I can't be of help, but if you'll indulge me, I'm curious why you got "fed up" with using Tailscale.

  • The parallels are genuinely disturbing. It's further disturbing how many Americans are just cool with it.
