The nurses all love when Jim is the on call ER doctor cause he doesn’t take any shit. I remember this 19 year old kid came in and said he had a toothache and Jim was just like, are you kidding me? And shot him.
If you are a chronic political poster, please think of yourself as someone who crates ads. We currently live in a world where ad creators think they have a god given right to shove ads into every square inch of our existence. And naturally, this is universally hated and people go to great lengths to block as many ads as they can because the ad makers won’t stop and think they have to do this.
That’s you. You’re the ad maker. And that’s how you’re perceived.
I know where I stand politically. I’ve known my entire adult life and I won’t be changing. I also know where to go to update myself on what’s going on politically, both locally and globally. I like having the option of going to it voluntarily and not having it imposed on me involuntarily. I like having the option of turning it off when I want/need to. I have never in my entire existence had a positive or productive or enlightening political discussion with anyone on the internet, ever. I just end up wrestling pigs and I’d rather channel my energy elsewhere. I’d imagine a lot of people agree with that sentiment.
That all being said, keep the rule. There are people who will still post political shit here because they can’t help themselves, regardless of what gets said in this thread.
When I was in college I went on a blind date with someone who turned out to be a writer for DC comics.
I drove to NYC for the date. It was nice. We went to dinner, she gave me a tour of the DC Comics offices (I remember seeing a mannequin with the Catwoman costume that Michelle Pfeiffer wore), and we went to the movies and saw a reissue of Return of the Jedi.
It was just the one date though. We eventually lost touch.
In Star Wars, the moments where Anakin turns to the dark side and leaves the dark side were meant to mirror each other. In both instances, he’s watching someone he’s close to being attacked mercilessly, and on the verge of death, and struggles with which side to choose before finally taking action.
“…pissed about what the left and globalists have done to our country…”
I’m sure if you asked them to explain in detail who the “left and globalists” are, and exactly what they think they’ve done to the country, you’d get back a very rational, factual reply.
I’ve been chased and harassed by seagulls, not for giving them food, but for eating food in their presence. I once saw a seagull grab a water bottle out of some lady’s bag. I remember witnessing a gang of seagulls dismember a live crab in front of a group of children. And to this day, I refuse to talk about the Nilla Wafer Incident.
They’re bullies, thugs, thieves, and they know it and are proud of it. Fuck a seagull.
You can get “specialty” guitar cleaning polish at pretty much any music store. I don’t know the difference between them and other cleaning products you might already have though.
You’re going to have a lot of gunk on the frets and fretboard. When you go to clean that off, just be wary of any cleaner that’s abrasive or has chemicals that are harmful to wood.
Rusty parts, I like to use naval jelly - awesome pink goo that you can get pretty much anywhere. Dissolves rust and is gentle on the base metal. And this is your opportunity to clean up dust around the bridge, pickups, and nut.
Also, if you’ve been playing the same strings for 10 years, you’re going to think you got a whole new guitar when you put on fresh ones.
I have a little music project I do on the side. I haven’t done much with the past few years for a variety of reasons, but I recently finished and released a song, and I’m starting to put together an album.
