  • They're super straightforward though?

You set up indexers to be searched for content.

You set up downloaders that can download from the indexers.

You set up the downloads and the media folder (e.g. the series folder for Sonarr).

Then you simply add whatever content you want downloaded.

Finally you can set the renaming in a very neat templating language.

  • No, which makes it even funnier.

  • No, this is called decentralisation.

Federation would be the exchange of rules, policies, blocklists, etc., beyond the ability of servers to talk to each other.

  • TBF Control was pretty awesome. Couldn't care less about Firebreak, which is sad because I expected it to be a much better game...

  • and decentralised means there is no server

no, it means there's no central server. You still need a Matrix server to handle communications, but there's no "central matrix server", the servers discover each other based on a baked-in "known good" server list + ad-hoc discovery (e.g. if a server has a group chat with a member of a server your server doesn't know yet, and you join that group chat, your server and the unknown one exchange metadata and so on).

  • Vi sitter här i venten...

  • Ah, those good old days...

  • There can be debate in a comic. As in, characters bringing up talking points and the winner argument winning based on logic.

Do you see that in this comic? Or in most of PizzaCake's work?

Also, "every popular comic"? Fuck no. Most actually get you to think. You can state the obvious AND make it a thought exercise. The latter is completely missing here.

  • Well I guess sofas are quite big. If JD boy brought his whole harem... That's a lot of cars.

  • This.

And it's not just law enforcement, but also the media - basically anyone who has any semblance of authority therefore their words have more power than your average person.

Let's play the hypothesis game. Let's presume that the referee wasn't attacked because he was gay while in public, but rather, someone he had beef with (even unknowingly) saw him on TV, followed him and beat him up. Then once he's caught he could sue the police and the media who published that he beat the referee because he was gay, which would be slander...

I know for many it's weird that criminals get to have rights, but over the past ~250 years we've refined a system that mostly works AND helps the police apprehend criminals at a much higher rate. Sorry fellas but your need to know comes last, the priority is on catching the person or people who did this and serving justice.

  • Did you seriously run Python just to ensure the string is properly formatted, instead of... letting it do the rest of the job too?

  • That's only true to the current outer layer of the sun.

Now consider that the sun will expand from its current ~1.4Mkm diameter to anywhere between 1.2 to 2 AU (1 AU being the distance between the sun and the Earth on average, so about 150Mkm). That's a 200 times increase in radius/diameter, resulting in a drop of the surface temperature to around 2400K, which, while isn't ideal for life (and in fact arguably the coronal plasma itself would be a bigger issue for life et al), is also not something the planet couldn't withstand for a good while. After all we're talking about a measly 2000 degrees Celsius or so.

  • Eh, "suck" is very objective.

I personally find her art to be simplistic, and the messaging is very much "mainstream common sense", with frequent additions of quite opinionated bits.

Again, I don't mind it, but I can see why for someone who expects at least a level of debate instead of having opinions force fed to them, would find her comics to "suck".

  • Because the T-72, etc. all store the primary ammunition in a gallery inside the turret. Which is great for reloading speed, but not so great for... anything else. Since the turret is the least armoured bit of the tank, it's the easiest part to penetrate, and once a projectile penetrates the armour, it's right into the ammunition storage, detonating it, and boom, turret toss.

  • PizzaCake, the artist behind this comic, made another comic a few years back, satirising a bunch of things men say to women to handwave away bad behaviour (think "not all men" kind of stuff). What she didn't notice was that with her satirisation, she also dismissed genuine issues that society also tends to dismiss relating to mens mental health.

The mods of r/comics went a bit overboard with the moderation (to be fair, an overwhelming amount of moderated comments have been just pure toxic masculinity, but a bunch of people who said that both toxic masculinity AND the intentional downplay of men's issues are a problem, got caught in the crossfire).

PizzaCake herself had some... less than savoury reactions, all in all it turned into a shitshow that the chuds blew out of proportion, the mods who stepped in were overbearing and obviously prejudiced, and the overall reactions just... weren't nice. this should've been something that triggers respectful discussion, and both sides were unable to do exactly that.

Later on, the manosphere launched what was essentially a mini gamergate against PizzaCake and bam, now we have a bunch of videos and Reddit posts calling her "pathetic" and other select names, while the people posting said content aren't better by any measure...

  • "well now that the plebs demand it, we must have a show around how we're going to punish Andy, but of course not too much, poor brother barely survived his Prince title being stripped"

  • I guess this person too got dragged into the PizzaCake "controversy" and decided to side with the butthurt misogynistic side who then went on to spread lies about the artist...

  • I'm buying stocks of Guillotine Inc. like, yesterday.

  • Now now, come on, there's at least about 3000 of those fuckers, let's not let some of the greedy cunts get away with it!
