  • I go with something like these, but I'm not sure what brand I have

  • Great additions!

  • Agree! I debated putting that in the OP, but wasn't sure how possible that is for folks

  • Good additions! I just didn't mention the snow tires because that's not an option for a lot of people in southern US states

  • VSGX is a diversified Vanguard ETF with >6,000 different non-US company stocks. This is an ESG-screened fund, basically meaning that it avoids fossil fuel and tobacco companies. Since it's Vanguard, it has a super low 0.1% expense ratio

BNDX is the Vanguard international bond ETF, with ~58% of holdings in Europe-based bonds. It has a 0.07% expense ratio and pays a monthly dividend equal to about 4% return/year

  • Not just labor for the top categories, skilled labor. High costs for education then lead to skilled workers demanding higher salaries, further raising costs of those categories. If only society could somehow mitigate costs for education so there were more skilled laborers...

  • Democracy Now has a decades long track record of impactful investigative journalism and posts on YouTube

  • I just have to say "want" lol

  • Public transit, sports facilities, malls, and other pedestrian-focused places where people congregate in person. Advertising directly helps make public transit and spaces more affordable for everyone and perhaps makes or breaks financial viability at all in some cases. It's also harder to violate people's privacy with a physical ad somewhere on display for everyone. But I'd say there is a line on when it's overdone, especially in professional sports stadiums.

Fuck billboards and anything that makes driving less safe though.

  • Yes, exactly. You need a stable society to run oil refineries and distribute the gasoline to every community. Portable solar panels may be a trickle of energy, but it's still something to juice up an EV that only requires sun. Some EV can also power an extension cord, so they're a mobile back up battery.

  • In addition to a culture of walking, biking, and taking public transit to where they need to go. Maybe the extra vacation time to destress and get out and see the world helps too

  • Great, so the billionaires and algorithms can rug pull us while we're asleep

  • They give fine grain details on the Chance For Hope Foundation page. There are some pieces of info the charity posts transparently, but they're missing critical items like any financial statements. The Charity Navigator rating system basically only recommends donating to charities with a perfect 4 star rating.

  • There are many great organizations out there doing awesome work. The website Charity Navigator does a good job rating different organizations for their transparency and how much of their funds are actually spent on their mission. They gave the "charity" mentioned in the article a 2 star rating.

  • If your profession has a professional society or industry has a trade association, look into webinars, certification classes, or other events they might have to learn more about your field and build skills. They often have opportunities to get involved with the organization as well, which could look good on paper to management when promotion opportunities arise...or new job applications if there are no promotions

  • And stay hydrated
