  • Thanks for the feedback!

    1. I may not have labeled that accurately, I just plan to use Tailscale to access these services from specific authorized devices.
    2. I meant "before I do something that is a pain to correct". Like starting with the wrong OS or file system format.
    3. My plan is to build a media server which will include 4k media, so I think my storage may need to grow over time... maybe TrueNAS is something I can add later if needed?
    4. I guess the reason I was thinking of 2 separate machines is that I've heard using an OPi as a media server or NextCloud server will go really slow and potentially cause other issues. Plus I already have an old computer doing nothing right now, just needs new SSDs.
  • Used the whiteboard tool in Clickup. It's a lot like FigJam.

  • I'll probably go this route, thanks!

  • Oh, those look nice! Looks like they're sold out at the official retailer sites though. Bummer.

  • Yeah, that's good feedback. I usually don't like getting crazy with fonts and colors, but thought I'd give it a try here. I also almost always have a dark mode extension on in my browser which totally changes the look of the sheet, and I sometimes forget what the actual colors are.

  • Thanks for the suggestions! I know what you mean about the commitment to the Big Brother/Sister program. It's something I've thought about doing in the past, but never considered myself as great with kids and was a bit intimidated by the idea. It's probably about time I get over that nonsense and take the plunge.

  • Currently playing Werewolf the Apocalypse and will likely be playing Hunter when this campaign wraps up. I'm also hoping to get a chance to play some Pathfinder 2e and maybe run a Delta Green game. Would love to play Mothership at some point. Hope you all have a great new year of gaming!

  • I take it back, having used it as my default search engine for a few days now I can say that it's more difficult to find decent results that DDG or Google.

  • I'm generally pretty skeptical of companies touting tree planting campaigns as it's often just greenwashing, but I'll give this a shot. So far, the search results aren't any worse than other Google alternatives.

  • Could you expand on that? If I were looking for federated platforms that get a lot of activity from artists posting their work, what would you recommend?

  • Yeah, this report is designed with a transportation agenda in mind, so the graph only shows a select set of emission sources to make the tailpipe emissions look as bad as possible. Add in all other sources of emissions and the graph doesn't look quite as impressive for the point they're trying to make.

Figure 1: In the 2019 statewide greenhouse gas emissions inventory, car tailpipes accounted for 119 MMTCO2e — roughly 28% of California’s overall emissions, and more than the emissions from the entire buildings sector and electricity sector combined.

  • Yep. And quakes tend to make my dog run around like a maniac peeing everywhere. Fun times.

  • I feel ya. I have a dog and three cats, but so far have not had an issue with hair or cable chewing. The frame is essentially just a kit of 2020 extruded aluminum t-slot rails with connectors. If I were to do this again, I would probably not go with a kit and instead just buy the rails and connectors I need for my specific motherboard/components. Also, any extra rails/connectors you get could go toward a DIY 3D printing frame (that's my next project)!

  • In LA, I would have said the Cineramadome, but they closed during pandemic. We've still got Egyptian, Aero, and Nuart though.

  • I'm also not a fan of memes, but I acknowledge that many other people are. The most I can do is block communities that are expressly for memes and shrug off the rest. There's plenty of other places for grouches like us.
