Protein, plus fiber, plus complex carbohydrates. What's not to love? Plus it makes a smaller environmental impact compared to farming poultry or larger animals. It was mind blowing to hear rags like the WSJ demonize the younger generation for eating avocado toast; it's a fucking cheap meal. Avocados were like $1 a pop and are a good source of fiber and health fat. I can't wait for rags like the WSJ to start publishing articles like, "How dare the poors waste money on eating!"

I make black bean based veggie patties; not because I'm a vegetarian, but because a can of black beans is cheap. I call them struggle burgers. I can't wait to be demonized for buying fucking beans. Fuck this timeline.

I spent about 1 year selling plasma; I already had a full time job, and other gig work on the side. It fucking sucked. You'd wait an hour to have a nurse take your vitals to determine if you were healthy enough to donate. Then you'd wait an hour just to get hooked up to a machine. For me, once I was hooked up, it took 50 minutes to fill the bottle.

Those bottles of Plasma retailed for over $1000. I got paid $60 a bottle. I could donate twice a week. Every moment of it sucked and it left scars in my arms.

Marriage certificates have the wife's maiden name, and then specify a space for a new surname, just in case someone changes the surname when they get married. I guess the point I am making is that there is a way over the hurdle as long as that info is on your marriage certificate.

When it comes to making a purchase of like $500 - $1000, I use affirm. My credit score is 715, and I get a rate of 16% APR. My credit cards won't give me a lower rate than 30%. I only make 1 purchase like this per year. In 2024 I used it to by an electric bike. In 2025 I used it to purchase all the parts I needed to build a new PC. When I do this, I usually have about half of the money for the thing I'm buying already saved.

The fact like services like this are now doing rental payments is absolutely a direct result of the late stage capitalism hellscape caused by ballooning housing prices and stagnant wages. The fact that housing has been turned into a commodity to make rich people richer is disgusting.

All that aside, these services can be a much better alternative to a credit card when used responsibly and you plan well with your budget.

The hard core MAGA voters don't give a shit until it happens to them. There are so many stories about entrenched Trump districts having their local economies collapse because ICE rounded up all the brown workers in their town. They were happy to vote for Trump making excuses, "Trump doesn't really mean that," or, "Trump will only go after the bad ones." Suddenly it's, "This wasn't what I voted for," shocked pikachu face. Finally, there are a subset of people that once it does happen to them, will say things like, "Trump isn't hurting the right people." There were plenty of voters that were brown themselves, thinking they were part of the in-group. Some of these people are incredibly hateful. I can't say that these people will deserve their comeuppance, but they absolutely need to experience it to have any hope of learning anything and adjusting their attitude and hate towards others.

I feel shame as an American. I've been making it through the day at work, and spending about an hour each day crying when I get home. When I think about all of the people being brutalized for existing I feel so deeply sad for them. I'm also fucking terrified that LGBT people will be next because I am one of those.

I don't find it awkward at all. If someone's not into me, they are not into me. I'll respect their wishes, keep any further conversation with them brief and at acquaintance level, and move on with my life. We all have preferences, and I'm not interested in being fixated on someone that turns me down. There are plenty of other people in the world. My life peaceful and I am ok with being alone and doing my own thing.

About a dozen people took part in the “March for Billionaires” on Saturday morning in San Francisco to raise awareness about the plight of the ultrarich. Although some assumed the event was satire, organizer Derik Kauffman said it was a sincere protest against a potential new tax on the state’s wealthiest residents.

And 10-20 to people showed up to actually protest.
