  • It's wild living through the time that these systems are brand new and pricey, then become practically worthless, and then become scarce and unaffordable forever.

  • Age is just a number, or something.

  • This is the way. People respond better to non-directive information like this anyway.

  • And noticing that this tweet is already 5 years old is the cherry on top.

  • You're hurting me.

  • If you had asked me before I looked it up, I probably would've placed the original Xbox at 20 years old. Time is flying by.

  • A professor once gave me similar advice when I was trying to get into grad school. I repeated a bunch of advice I had heard from other students who were struggling with the same thing, and he said "Why are you listening to them? Go ask the grad students here who have already gotten into grad school."

It was such obvious advice in retrospect, but it was eye-opening for me at the time, and I've applied it to many other parts of life.

  • Thanks. I knew it wouldn't land for a lot of people. Anti-jokes don't usually play well, but I thought it was amusing.

  • Thank you, lol. I didn't make this one, but in its defense, I read it as an anti-joke shitpost. I believe it's intentional.

  • Yes

  • I just did this as a complete noob. Well, PopOS is still on my gaming rig, but my secondary PC is now Debian.

I expected it to be way more barebones, but it turns out that my experience has been like 90% identical.

  • We call it tAInt

  • It's an anti-joke playing on expectations. Like, you expect the joke to be that the guy is crawling the wrong way, or to be making fun of Americans not using the metric system, but it's been edited so that neither of those fit.

  • smh

  • Yeah, it's just a shitpost with layers of irony and edits to the intended joke.

  • I think it's just a human reaction to work sometimes. Like, it's clearly your job and why you're employed, but part of you is also like:

  • My first couple of re-runs, I was annoyed with him and would kill him on sight.

After a while (and in other games), I began to embrace the betrayal. Like, "Sure thing, bud. I'll go stand right over there by the cliff... Oh, you rascal, you." I realized it's more fun to go along for the ride.

  • I guess 2 cancel each other out.

  • Your response will be helpful for those who come after.
