  • Fair point! In the end, everyone needs to use what works best for them. I do concede that I’m not really familiar with accessibility issues and I perceive the accessibility options to be lacking in the distros I know. Maybe it will change in the future and I hope it does :) thank you for your contribution!

  • Oh I also use windows on my work machine and not anywhere else. The enterprise version is not full of crap and doesn’t force AI down your throat.

  • I mean at this point why stick with Microsoft? I get needing a particular software only able to run in windows but other than that there’s really no need.

  • Looks really nice!

  • But for a little while the stockholders were happy. And that’s what counts.

I remember HP in its prime where they would make breakthrough technology and everything was nicely engineered and built to last. Their oscilloscopes and programmable power supplies were made like tanks. Their calculators still work today. Shame really.

  • It depends, but for me one use case is decoupling the end device from the application. We have laptops, desktops and phones in our household and rather than installing/updating every single one of them I have a central point for management, with all of the downsides of course (if the thing fails, it fails for all).

When I add a new machine to the network, every functionality an data is already there so I don’t need to copy or install anything everywhere.

  • I use vaultwarden/bitwarden but I’ll check it out.

  • Luxottica is a greedy plague buying up reputable brands like rayban and Oakley , increasing the prices, making shit quality and riding what is left of the reputation to the ground in the name of the shareholders. Doesn’t help that they’re a quasi monopoly on frames…

  • There is Microsoft AI on WhatsApp???

  • An AirTag. Thomas likes to roam around a bit or hides somewhere in the house so we use it find her.

  • These rascals actually enjoy being around us and coming for scratchies and belly rubs, often falling asleep. They also seek contact to us, are very curious of whatever we do and follow us around the house. Loved your story, sounds like you really cared for the cat as much as she cared for you.

  • Oh yes

    Jump
  • Mine play with the goddamn foil…

  • Happens quite often. I’m self employed btw. And do my own IT.

  • To be fair, in hindsight windows 8 is glorious compared to windows 11…

  • Do you guys not have phones - energy

  • So it’s using the Same Rendering Engine as Firefox?

  • Or - and this is a wild theory - just cripple the ones using a-series chips and keep the m-series the same but charge more.
