  • This seems like a pretty reasonable take.This article does seem intentionally devisive. From the very beginning, its premise was that anyone supporting this bill is automatically pro-life, and uses that as justification to dismiss all conservative MPs. It jumps to huge conclusions based on very little.

    I don't understand those disagreeing with you. If you heard a story about a woman who was assaulted, any reasonable person would be angry about that. Would you not be even more angry if you heard that she was pregnant with full intent to have the baby?

    We all treat pregnant women as special. Because a wanted pregnancy is very special. Anyone assaulting someone who is pregnant should get the maximum punishment the law allows.

  • The most fascinating part of this to me is that roughly 88% of mixed breed dogs passed the test. So if you're just looking for a great dog, a mixed breed might actually have a better chance than a purebred!

  • I think the contrast is that the Conservatives have talked about addressing the supply side rather than the demand side. Pollievre has talked about "removing the gatekeepers" to allow more homes to be built.

    I'm not sure if cities are actually making it hard to build more homes. But I would guess that from a city's perspective, you'd want to limit the rate of new homes being built so you can keep your land valuations as high as possible to maximize property tax revenue. But again, that's just a theory. And not sure the Conservatives could do anything about that anyway if it were the case

  • I once tightly rolled my dress shirt and dress pants into my dress shoes to save space. I knew I'd need to iron them before wearing them anyway, and it actually worked really well!

    If I have extra shoes or sandals I'll strap them to the outside of the pack.

    I also use a single compact fast-charging usb-c charger.

    Toiletries can take up unnecessary space. I use a small bar of soap for both my body and hair instead of bringing shampoo. For shaving I ditch the handle and use a small tin of shave butter instead of a can of shaving cream.

    Other than that, I just take less clothes than I think I'll need. I only take 2 t-shirts and a tank top when I go for backpacking trips. I just do laundry in the sink every couple days and it's great!
