Migrated from Lemmy to Piefed, just another stalker on the web.

  • WTF

    Jump
  • Going from my GOS Pixel to my Galaxy Tablet is like getting whiplash. I disabled and deleted a lot of useless shit with adb, but every now and then it'll update and show me dumb shit. I got literally jumpscared by seeing Gemini in my app list a few weeks ago.

God I wish there were custom ROMs for it...

  • Yeah, was gonna post about this a few days ago. They literally blur the fucking lyrics:

It's been like this for about 3 days or so now, so I don't even know when it refreshes and gives you lyrics again. The lyrics they just pull from other sites and sometimes isn't even synced right 🙄

I guess I really just need to move to Navidrome now. I have the Arr suite set up and everything...

Edit: And I am already on YT Revanced, so they're gonna need to drop a patch for that soon I guess. I mean, they try to block the stream all the time anyway so this is just another step

  • Bro I am as old as Cooking Mama...

Also when will we get another game 😭

  • Well, according to the Join loops website, Loops federates with Mastodon and Pixelfed only, so you do need to make an account either on Loops or one of those other media sites. Do note that your Masto or Pixelfed instance would need to federate with Loops instances. I wish I could verify but I don't think my Pixelfed instance federates with Loops.video

As for which instance to pick, you can see a list at fedi.db and filter by Loops under the "All Software" drop down menu. Do you want the main popular instance? Do you want to focus on a topic? Do you want to stick with your country? There's not many instances as of now, so maybe stick with the original Loops.video, since you can always migrate later.

Edit: Instance migration isn't available yet, but it's planned on the roadmap for Q3 2026.

  • And coming to F-droid soon!

Loops is Now on the App Store

    blog.joinloops.org /loops-is-now-on-the-app-store/
  • Unfortunately that's just not how people work. I hate Tiktok and never used it, but I still want Loops to do well so people can have a far healthier and privacy-considerate service. There are many inventions huamns have made that do harm instead of good, but we have to learn how to minimize what we can as we depend on them. Forcing people to "not have Tiktok-like services" is not a solution.

  • Funny that you say that, as Loops just posted to their Kickstarter and blog on Thursday that Loops is in the App Store, and no longer beta!

Hopefully that drives up some engagement.

  • I never said people didn't care, but I definitely didn't see a lot about the previous victims compared to Good and Pretti, in fact I never heard about González and Garcia.

It's just a concerning and upsetting trend I've seen.

  • I am happy that people are mad about the death of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. But I am also saddened that it took their deaths for people to care. If I was killed by ICE next week, would anyone care? Do I not deserve angry protesters?

Highly disappointed with this comment section right now. If you feel divided by this post then maybe take time to reflect. You're not a villain for only being sad about he recent killings, but getting mad at Bad for posting this is a shame.

  • This one implies that a random man in public is a sexual predator. That’s a hateful position

Holy shit, media literacy is truly dead. If people can't read a one-page comic and understand that it's making fun of pedophiles (literally says the fucking word) and not "men in general", then we have to reset or something.

Me when I'm in a illiteracy competition with a persecution fetishist

  • I had issues on Fedora, but it was solved by doing a power reset. Apparently when you get a kernel update you have to do that. All that troubleshooting and researching was useless lol. I just wish I knew that was the issue, and not my hardware, cause I almost bought a Bluetooth dongle.

  • I started daily driving a year ago with Fedora Silverblue (Atomic) which uses GNOME because people said Atomic distros are friendlier to beginners, and Fedora already had a good reputation for working fairly well out the box. The only issue I had was a Bluetooth issue, and you can rollback to previous kernel versions to wait until a fix is made. If I was just a browse the internet and play games on Steam kind of person, I think I would have loved it. But I did try to tinker and do things that were far to difficult to figure out how to change on an Atomic distro, especially since I couldn't find instructions or documentation for my distro, so I moved to regular Fedora KDE after a few months and I absolutely love it.

No annoying pop-ups, no stalking, no weird shit being enabled by default, just an OS that does what YOU want it to do. I am comfortable with using the terminal due to taking a Linux course, but I feel that you could do a lot without having to use it. Plus, most sites and github projects give you basic installation guides anyway. The only two issues I have had were Bluetooth and my touchpad not working. The solution for these two issues were simple, but I couldn't find the information for literal months. I solved the Bluetooth issue by doing a power reset, apparently you have to do that when you get a kernel update. The touchpad issue was it disabled itself in the system settings one day. That's literally it. My computer hasn't blown up, my mic and camera always work, I have found FOSS alternatives for almost everything, I don't game much on laptop but I've gotten old Japanese 32-bit games to work on Lutris, etc.

Maybe I'll distro-hop in the future, but it's only for the pure curiousity and fun, not out of necessity or broken tech. In fact, Linux just makes tech fun. It makes my laptop feel brand new, and makes me go "Wow. I love using technology."

The only reason I still have my Windows partition is because my college uses Lockdown Browser for online tests, and I don't want to fuck up a no-retakes test or do testing in person. Once I graduate, I'm probably nuking that partition, I feel like barfing every time I boot into it.

  • I also use Libre Office for college. If your professor allows it try submitting a pdf of a document instead of converting to .docx. Documents generally suck as a file type, and so I've had many professors take only .pdf for submission due to formatting issues.

  • I still never beat the original TTYD, man. I miss old Paper Mario...

  • I'm not a child but young enough to live with my parents, and I have family members who don't actually understand the stuff I like, so the last 2 or 3 Pokemon games I've gotten were because of them lol. They do this with anime I never even watch too. Whatever's popular, they'll buy it...

I still haven't been motivated to finish Sc/Vi, it's just that boring. Sw/Sh was also a tad mediocre, but I still enjoyed parts of it. At least LA was fun, albiet too short imo.

But yeah the only thing I like about the new Pokemon games are the characters, music, and designs. Difficulty is abysmal, some villans/teams are fucking dumb (Sw/Sh was ass), and the day-one DLC is killing me. And while I'm far from a graphics snob, when seeing how old Pokemon games like Wii Battle Revolution had such good animation, and new open world games like ToTK and Xenoblade look and perform well, it just makes me wish GameFreak didn't own the fucking series. And most of all is the lack of creativity.

We haven't had a PMD game in almost 6 years, snd it's been a DECADE since the last brand new PMD. Rangers was shot dead out back. Conquest is a corpse. The battle colosseum/revolution series is a skeleton. The last Rumble game was 3DS and was a pay to play mess. Same thing with Shuffle. Fuck Trozei, Dash, Pokepark, all of them. Hell, even Duel was kinda fun and it was a mobile game. I severly doubt if we'll ever see any of these series again anytime soon. And it's a shame because these are some of my favorite games in the whole franchise, that I literally poured hundreds of hours into.

Having said that, anyone got any good Mystery Dungeon games to recommend? I tried one of the Chocobo ones and put it down after like 3 hours...

  • Wow, it's multi-lingual, hentai for all.

Also flashbacks to kids who wore this in middle and high school...

I mean, I couldn't care less if grown adults wear it, although I certainly won't be wearing one anytime soon myself.

  • Sorry to put your mood down. I was trying less to target you specifically and rant about Threadiverse in general due to seeing the overall hypocritical environment. People cry for one thing and then spit on it when it happens.

Please have a nice day, I know the internet sucks sometimes.

  • Man, I love Lemmy.

People keep complaining and making posts like "ugh the Americans are always crying on my feed with lazy politcal posts, where's the funny?" or, "Guys we really need to post more to make the Fediverse more active and friendly," and then get mad when someone posts more than twice a day.

The account has posted like what, 9 times over the past five days? None of the posts featured AI slop or politics, nor did they only post a single artist or ideology (ie showing signs of being an advertiser/influencer). And we do have purposeful bot accounts on here, so being a bot isn't inherently bad (especially in dead/low-activity communities).

We have no karma to farm on Threadiverse, so why are people freaking out about a couple of new frequent posters? It'd be different if it was all slop, politics, or advertising, but they're literally just normal accounts. Do we want active users or not?
