Look, I'm not going to sit here and act as if the Islamic Republic didn't persecute left wing factions, however I think it's pertinent to mention the fact that the MEK, which was one of the revolutionary factions, sided with Sadaam's invasion of Iran before the executions occurred, which was the catalyst.

There's undeniably an argument to he had that if the MEK, at the time, was the faction that won out then things would be better in Iran. However, Khomeini out organized them, and by siding with Iraq in the imperialist backed war basically signed a death sentence on the Iranian socialist movement until even his day.

Also, do people just fucking not understand the phrase "Politics is war without guns and war is politics with guns." Why the fuck are supposed Communists in the west insisting upon having some perfect in a vaccume opinion about the nature of the Islamic Republic, when at the moment it should be noted that Khamenei was a bulwark against US imperialism.
