  • Trump (and Biden and Harris) are/were little more than mouthpieces. Policies are created by wealthy elites/"deep state"/lobbyists and the politicians just sell the thing to the public by lying and making big theatrical carryings-on.

  • If nothing else, it's worth it just to see how brain-dead nazism really is. They're not Machiavellian masterminds, they're thugs with an ideology built on brainfarts. Also quoting from the book (in the original German) is a good way to kill a conversation with one of the modern spawn.

  • Mein Kampf. Apart from being a bad person, Hitler was a terrible writer. Low quality thoughts articulated badly. I only read it so I could nail neonazis when they came at me with their stupid arguments.

  • I listened to some Vietnamese rock songs on YouTube. The language hurts my ears when spoken because it's so tonal and twangy (no hate, my ears are just not used to it) but it sounds cool when sung. I haven't found anything yet that really knocked my socks off but I've been enjoying it.

  • There's no Chinatown here as such, but there's a Chinese association, where they do tai chi and stuff. I might see if they're open during Christmas.

  • I love spending Christmas alone when it's my choice... and I have food and not being crushed with stress from all directions, and not living in a street full crazy people who won't let me have any peace in my own home. It's very different when you've been treated like shit all year, then have a super shitty Christmas lined up.

  • Feng shui was originally presented as a mystical, "wive's tale" system exactly because of this. If a sage told a young person to keep their windows clean because then your house will be full of "clean" light instead of "dirty" light, and this will improve your mood, the young person would tell him to shove off. But if he says cleaning your windows invites the lucky spirits to enter your home, it plants a seed in the person's mind and they might actually try cleaning their windows.

  • Gazanias are my favorite. Unpretentious little suns blazing away in the garden. What's not to like.
