I like city building games and puzzles. I like other things as well, but that's not important right now.

My fediverse philosophy is that we should avoid emulating the bad and crude aspects of reddit - don't abuse the downvote feature, don't chase 'karma' and don't overuse the word "porn" in subreddit names.

  • No i still don't believe this is a real thing. I've personally never needed one and I've had some dire situations in the bathroom - all sorts of dire situation one can have in the bathroom.

  • My most recent experience is Fallout 76 on Steam, and by god it is a bag of bugs despite being the bread winner of the franchise.

You know what's interesting? I see footage and images from the previous few fallout games, all of them, in so many different contexts - people love those games and they talk about them, A LOT.

But I have never seen any footage from fallout 76.comparitively nbody seems to think it worth celebrating, in the same way as the other few fallout games.

That's how you can tell a series fell off. You can apply this to TV and movies too - i see less 'House of the Dragon' stuff than i saw 'Game of Thrones' stuff

  • Wasn't even that good for me tbh just a time wasting exercise. Release the cable eating sharks!!

  • Lads, lasses and lessers <--- queerphobic version

  • Or.... owls are aliens. What we have on esrth is their primitive pregenitor species who they dumped here like it was some zoo

  • What I never get about this is…does not your very existence refute this argument? If you’re a 20-something male and convinced that your genetics just doom you forever to celibacy…how exactly do you explain your own existence? Unless you are the result of a rape, you, by definition, have the genes necessary to attract a partner. After all, everyone in your family line prior to you managed to do it.

Yep that's a good point and basically should be the 'white pill' to cure inceldom. I imagine people believe dating has crashed in contemporary times, departing from the established conventions and regressing to a tech-fueled version of the primative default humans worked with prior to civilisation beginning.

As such, they chalk their recent-most ancestors' genetic success down to people 'playing by the rules' of dating, but that everything prior to that is down to this animalistic default mode they support.

  • The ACTUAL meaning of negging is not 'teasing,' but:

    • say/do something to imply you're not attracted/interested in them
    • eithee lowers their self esteem til they're "at your level," or
    • it supposedly gives them a burning desire to be desired by you, to rise to that challenge

In this sense it can be seen as a toxic extension to the "playing hard to get" concept.

It was pushed by american media and by pickup artists/ later by manosphere influencers

  • omg they could split this record into two categories - with lube/lotion or without.

  • don't they send someone over to watch you break the record

  • I think people have literally pointed out that he does do this, yeah. It's a very boring style of corruption but you get what you get with an evil despot.

    • ((5+1)x8)/2
    • ((5-1)+8)x2

    That's really satisfying.

    • (5-2)x1x8 [i.e 3x8]
    • (5-1)x(8-2) [a.k.a 4 x 6]

And i'll leave it at that

  • Again, all those home comforts within arms reach

  • One of the reason's i think i prefer office work to WFH... WFH has you immediately surrounded by comfort and our monkey brains just utilise whatever they can see in their immediate surroundings, so while an office job has you get a bit of exercise on the commute home, working from home gives you no choice but to dive into bed.

That's just a me problem though, isn't it. Don't want to remove WFH from people.

  • I love diced tomato and tolerste fried tomatoes but raw tomatoes make my top ten least favourite veggies. They exist to be pulverised into delicious sauces which magically improve everything they touch

  • I wonder how they decided to make the capital city, you know, where it is (no spoilers lol)

  • Well, if autism exists in animals (pretty sure i've heard that it does) i bet there are savants especially talented at communicating with humans.

  • And in the origin of the phrase left-wing v. right-wing, which comes from the french senate leading up to their revolution, i believe the left was more like top left corner of the political compass, and the right, being pro-monarchy(?) would be top right of the compass. The left won the revolution and killed an insane amount of people for stupid reasons. I maintain that the french revolutions were more extreme than the russian revolution.

But that anecdote just serves to demonstrate how left wing or right wing can change over time. Another one:

In industrial revolution Britain, left wing people opposed mass migration, which was utilised for the sole purpose of putting union members out of work by replacing them with cheaper labourers. The right wing, with their newfound wealth and power, wanted more autonomy from the state, but also liked to utilise state powers to control the newspapers, thus silencing dissent.

This scores both sides some points in "authoritarian" and in "liberal," so I would say that at this time the left wing was anchored firmly in the middle of the left hand edge, and the right wing in the middle of the right hand edge.

BTW i hate the political compass test itself, it's very very flawed. It's a great diagram to get people introduced to politics though.
