  • Weird thing is this is the “government takeover” the 2nd amendment nuts have been screaming about for generations. Not at all surprised that they’re mostly silent now. Also not at all surprised it their own political party who’s doing this.

  • I think that’s the other thing they’re doing. In the meantime, at least China isn’t treating trading partners like they owe their existence to its largesse like The Idiot.

  • Sorry if it came off as combative. Didn’t think you were being glib!

  • Not saying never give him what he wants. If he wants to engage in international diplomacy like a Big Boy, by all means go for it. The second he reverts to his bullying nature, sell off another $100m in treasury bonds.

Bullies only respond to power, and this one has the memory of a rock. Has to constantly be reminded that he’s not the only one with a stick to swing around.

Before anyone says, but wrecking the economy will hurt them to!” Yeah, I get that. It’s that reasonable thinking that Trump’s admin are banking on when they think wholesale tariffs will let them do whatever they want. This is where we are. A big international game of chicken. Unfortunately the biggest wimp in the game also has the most powerful military and largest economy. So there’s that. Still, he doesn’t seem to care about consequences, and as long as anyone on the other side of the negotiating table does, he’ll always have the upper hand.

  • If anyone isn’t expecting this kind of reaction to anything they do, they have no business being in government. Trump’s made it clear this is his go-to move. I think other countries need to make it they or go-to response to sell off $100m in Treasury bonds as a response to the threat, and promise to multiply that number by 10 of the tariffs actually happen.

  • Getting your code to do what you tell it is easy. Getting it to do what you want is hard.

  • Like how I do .

  • More often than not I’m the same way!

  • I mean, mistakes are a part of life, sure, but I would hate it if they defined my life! I’ve managed to make some pretty good choices along the way, too.

  • Republicans: And…?

  • Yeah often happiness is just contentment. It’s easy to get bored with that and “want more” from life. Bad choices can often follow these instincts!

  • Under appreciated litmus test right here!

  • It’s simple. They should all just take the Marshaun Lynch approach. When the league bans they, they adjust to accommodate. At the end of the day, they are the moneymakers for the league, and what they do on the field is what generates that money. Do the job, and the absolute minimum requirements of the off-field stuff. Basically quiet quit the NFL.

  • I will happily down a Moosehead whilst watching curling on one channel and hockey on another.

I won’t root for Aston Martin in F1, though.

  • Was thinking the same thing.

  • I think anyone who knows anything about Jesus would know exactly what a country named “Jesusland” would be like!

  • Oh I know. That and the next speech when he said the first one “got great reviews.” I genuinely hate this timeline.

  • All I could think about while watching Carney’s speech, aside from how much I’d forgotten what a real leader sounded like, was what kind of bullshit word salad the orange asshole would belch out of his McDonalds hole.
