  • Why was the first image in my mind The Idiot, upon reading this, calling up a US general over there to order some privates to run over there and stomp on the moss until it’s dead?

    I hate this timeline.

  • Coming soon to a United States near you!

  • Right!? Considering what’s public what the hell is “secret!?” Do we all have to have to start bathing in crude oil now? Using it as lube?

  • “Mission Accomplished!”

  • I agree with everything you said except the part about him killing Jesus or God. He doesn’t have the stones to actually do the dirty work.

  • Bondi’s the kind of person whose first response to hearing about the Epstein file, or any rape, is, “What were they wearing?”

  • Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried.

  • Most foreign born Americans. I have a feeling there's already a list of people who can stay. A short one. Populated by billionaire conservatives and eastern European former models.

  • Narrator: Those morons are famous for their lack of self-awareness.

  • Something something dildo of consequences…

  • Idiocracy intensifies.

  • It wouldn’t actually surprise me if she was a black belt. She had an… interesting childhood and life before she met Jeff.

I was mainly referring to Elon’s email to Epstein asking when would be best to show up at his island. I think he asked when the island was at its craziest.

  • Oh, Elon absolutely did. This particular article just isn’t about him.

  • Trumpstein class?

  • First of all, breathe. You missed an appointment. There are greater catastrophes in life! I’m sure a week doesn’t go by that most doctor’s offices have a handful of no-shows.

Second, you or your parents need to call the place and explain what happened. If they regularly deal with depression, I’m sure they’ve seen this before. The worst thing you can do is burry your head. Depression requires some kind of treatment. I’ve never met anyone who got a handle on it on their own. Places that worked with depression know what they’re dealing with, and want to help you. You just need to keep them in the loop.

Third, maybe see if your parents can talk to their insurance provider and see if there’s a depression counselor who can meet you over Zoom.

Finally, talk to your parents (anbd/or friends) about helping you with all the habits people in this thread are suggesting (like setting alarms and reminders). Habits a good in that they bring some structure to your life. That can help.

  • This doesn’t really sound like a grudge. This person showed you who she was. You’ve taken note, and have adjusted your behavior accordingly. That’s not a bad thing. She won’t be the last ladder climber you run into!

  • Honestly, the predominant self hosting community could use some competition.

  • I interact on Lemmy/Piefed, and I lurk on Reddit. Most of reddit has gone way downhill, but some of the niche communities there are still valuable resources.

FWIW, Lemmy has its own mod problems. I had a post deleted and the mod specifically said I hadn’t broken a community rule, they just didn’t think it belonged. Weirdly, there are plenty of similar posts on the corresponding Reddit sub, and the subject of my post directly impacted the subject of the community. I had even gotten some useful replies and the post was moderately upvoted but the community. This butt was just lording his power, and there wasn’t really anything I could do (I’m not starting a new community and putting in all the effort of growing it because of some dick on the Internet).

  • This is a great perspective. In a way, the civil part of a marriage is a kind of business of two people. It often comes with legal protections, tax advantages, and some other perks (when I rent a car, my wife is assumed to be a driver at no extra charge!). In many areas, a married arrangement is preferable for adoption purposes. There are a bunch of side benefits to “making it official.”

All of that said, I think countries should do away with marriage. Return it to the churches, and offer a personal business license that gives all the same legal protections and tax options. Any two consenting adults can start a business. When it’s called “marriage” people get their panties in a bunch!
