  • Where was the "embarrassment" when they had the world cup in Russia in 2018 and when they had it in Qatar? Ultimately embarrassment ought to result in action but I'm not sure it will here.

  • This is directly contradicted not just by the article but also by the headline.

Just to remind you the headline was "Gov. Tim Walz encourages Minnesotans to film ICE agents for future prosecutions" emphasis added.

The first part of the article says:

Gov. Tim Walz encouraged Minnesota residents to carry their phones at all times to record federal immigration actions, promising during a statewide address on Wednesday night that “accountability is coming” for abuses by federal officers.

    Emphasis added again.

  • Of those 15% I bet 100% vote for Deform UK.

  • Everyone should get a passport. You never know if you ever need to travel in an emergency. In addition if Republicans do impose stricter voter ID laws you'll be ready for it.

But I would very strongly recommend getting the larger passport in addition to the card because the card doesn't let you do as much as the passport book.

  • I totally agree with this post. We don't need violence or a civil war. I really believe peacefully organizing and changing the minds of voters can make a big difference. We can win the midterms big in 2026. We first reach out to undecided voters and then flip them to blue and keep building momentum such that by the time it's November Democrats will flip so many seats.

  • If we could cause a mass wave of subscription cancellations we could finish them off. I know no on here is subscribing to them but if you know anyone else who is urge them to cancel their ChatGPT/OpenAI subscriptions. If you have the chance to provide feedback for why you canceled be sure to mention you're unhappy OpenAI donated $25 million to Trump and unhappy about the ads.

  • I hope people cancel their Amazon Prime subscriptions in masses and even better switch away from AWS. AWS is how Amazon really gets their money.

  • I researched your claims because I was curious about this having never heard about any of this.

What I found is that "against trans rights" seems to come solely or mostly from a leaked text message that I'm guessing you're referring to.

I found this article which looked at his overall record: https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2024/10/rep-ruben-gallego-a-champion-for-lgbtq-rights-in-congress/ and it's overall positive including on trans rights.

As for the leaked text message it seems the original source was here: https://humanevents.com/2025/11/25/exclusive-reuben-gallegos-leaked-texts-mocking-appearance-of-democrat-women-revealed (archive link so you don't have to give the website your click https://archive.is/yaSNB)

That's from Jack Posobiec's (trump supporter) website. Reading what Gallego actually wrote I must confess while I'm not completely on board what he's saying I do kind of understand where he's coming from. Some people have the perhaps false impression that Democrats are focused on correcting people for minor things but a lot of that is because of right-wing propaganda ex: from Fox.

  • I wonder if some of those people involved in this worked a second shift to help get Trump elected. I believe China does have pro-Trump bots just like Russia does.

  • If you plant a tree will it be big in one day? Maybe TISZA won't change everything but it's a step in the right direction.

  • Wikipedia says:

The Witchcraft Act 1735 (9 Geo. 2. c. 5) was an act of the Parliament of Great Britain in 1735 which made it a crime for a person to claim that any human being had magical powers or was guilty of practising witchcraft. With this, the law abolished the hunting and executions of witches in Great Britain. The maximum penalty set out by the act was a year's imprisonment.

It thus marks the end point of the witch trials in the Early Modern period for Great Britain and the beginning of the "modern legal history of witchcraft", repealing the earlier Witchcraft Acts which were originally based in an intolerance toward practitioners of magic but became mired in contested Christian doctrine and superstitious witch-phobia.

So likely actually she got charged for claiming she has magical powers since the law says that it's a crime for a person (which I assuming includes yourself) to claim that someone has magical powers.

  • I'm very grateful you do that! It does all add up. Hopefully Democrats can start having real conversations with other people, I don't mean trying to change the most die-hard MAGA-type person but there are lots of people who don't think much about politics, are undecided or independent. If we can reach those people in masses I think it could start causing a shift from red to blue and hopefully it's enough to save our country.

  • The difference between a blue state and red state is often times just a few percentage points of voting. This is not a good idea. Also there are so many amazing Democrats who have no choice but to live in red states. Moving is really expensive. Will you be willing to pay everyone's moving expenses? How will we afford a home or apartment in another state? Will we all have jobs? You will hurt a countless number of people if this happens.

  • The only thing people should be giving up is their Amazon Prime subscriptions and AWS hosting. You're very likely getting ripped off and overcharged if you use AWS. Also although I recommend ordering from other websites if you have no choice but to use Amazon you don't need Prime for free shipping, just wait until you have enough stuff in your cart such that you're over the free shipping threshold. Don't order unnecessary stuff to get over the threshold.

  • This is good but no matter what I don't think Google should have such a monopoly over the web.

  • Solution: cancel your Amazon Prime subscription. Remember that Bezos also funded Trump's inauguration and he ruined the Washington Post.

  • Almost certainly it will be a thing but it will be more difficult than past midterms. In the meantime we got to keep fighting and doing everything we can to tank Trump's popularity (things such as talking to people who don't follow politics much) because the less popular Trump is and the less support the more likely people will refuse the risk of rigging/stopping the election.
