Absolutely. Valve took Linux seriously and it's helped Linux gaming immensely. But you can argue a few things - Valve are private and can still do what they want without an obligation to shareholders. Linux gives them better control of the software on their own devices, so they can tailor the experience exactly how they want. Investing in proton made it so people are willing to buy and use these devices, as the game library becomes nearly identical to windows.
A company like EA, a monolith at this point and historically one of the most profit driven, greedy, arguably scummy companies in gaming, if they're investing in Linux support that means they see dollars and other companies will follow suit. They're specifically looking at their anti cheat software according to this picture which would bring in their competitive shooters, the type of game that is largely missing on Linux.
If their anti cheat supports Linux, others like Easy anti cheat may push to support Linux, and developers like facepunch have even less of a leg to stand on when it comes to ignoring Linux. Unless EA does something like "You must be using our new EA Linux distro for our anti cheat to work" I can't see this being a bad thing.
Not much. It's just visually separated into it's own "app". I haven't used the feature in mint but maybe you also miss out on any extensions you have installed in your browser. Maybe it'll look a little less like a browser along the top.
I use a similar feature at my job through windows/edge and it's just so I can treat this one thing like it's own application. In that case it has it's own icon on the taskbar, which i have pinned so I can open it quickly, the browser UI is gone, it's just the web page in the window, I can get to it without looking through tabs, and it allows me to do whatever in the browser (like close it entirely) without affecting this window.
I also had the Moto X and loved it. The wood back was neat. After then I kept getting bigger phones, from LG and Samsung, but nowadays I kind of miss smaller phones. I was also sold on the better cameras of these other brands. Depending what they release I might make my way back to Motorola. I'm pretty ingrained in Samsung at the moment.
The beginning of that movie always takes me out. So they fly in on a helicopter, there are 3 visible helipads (well, 2 and then sand) in a line and they land on the one to the right (from the water perspective).
They get out, get in jeeps, drive for a few seconds to the left side of the helipads driving onthe ocean side and then get out?! Movies used to just do random shit for vibes and logic could go to hell.
I mean, 2 of the jeeps go somewhere else but it's just Arnold and the driver in his.
then suddenly people will start really caring about how much information a service has access to
I sincerely doubt it. The majority of people will accept that this is just "how it is" and will move on with life. After all, they're not doing anything wrong.
I read something about how maybe you don't want to force yourself to eat too much when dealing with cancer, but that was in Peter Attia's book outlive, and even though there were sources (that I didn't look at), he's probably a pedophile and now I don't know if it's good information.
Agreed. Though I find for someone like myself with.. extra ear wax production foam tips get annoying to clean.
In any case, comply is a decent brand, dekoni I find to be better and more comfortable, except they have trouble staying ON the ear bud, so they end up in my ear. I've heard the same from a reviewer who I found out about dekoni from.
Because of the vagueness of the question (and I understand why you wouldn't want to just throw your business out there) the answers will have to be somewhat vague too but I'll try. Really I have no business offering advice, so keep that in mind.
Let's say it's like your example, beating a wall until you hurt yourself. You'll need to seek professional help. It's not that therapy itself will "fix" you, but a professional could give you tools that you can use to help yourself. You can't remove walls, you can't avoid them, it's not really something you could stop yourself from doing easily, and so I would think you'd need assistance.
If you have to avoid therapy and it's something else, maybe a porn genre that you're not proud of, I think you can try some stuff to help. For one, if it's digital and you have it saved, delete it (files, bookmarks, whatever). Do what you can to raise the barrier of entry to partaking in this hobby or fetish. Similar in my mind to someone fighting an addiction with drugs* or even just shitty food, if it's not in front of you you're less likely to think about it. Really, this is something you don't want to do, but you can't seem to stop yourself, so it is a sort of addiction. So, do some study about how people curb addictions and try that stuff. Same if it involves a physical object, if you can, throw it out. Even if it cost a lot of money, the point is you don't want to do it, so get rid of it.
Replace it with something healthy. Going back to if it's porn, since i don't know, replace it with a "normal" genre. Every time you get the urge to partake, do the other thing instead. This is like that advice when you crave something sweet, to eat fruit instead of candy, so it might be hit or miss. But, the point is to get that "release" through better means.
I also keep hearing this idea that your brain can't "tell" when you lie to yourself, and so the way you talk and think about yourself has a huge impact on how you behave. I've never done the deep dive to figure out how much solid evidence is backing this but it's worth a try. Do the mantra in the mirror in the morning type of shit. Even if it feels stupid, who cares, you're allowed to do stupid things. Tell yourself that's not who you are, this is not what you do, and give it time. Do your best to stop shaming yourself when you fail, because you probably will for a little while yet and that's just part of the process. Lie to yourself long enough, and maybe it will stop being a lie.
If what you're doing involves another person, get them involved in your improvement (if you can trust them). That accountability helps a lot of people. If what you're doing affects another person negatively, we're back to the seek professional help, as soon as possible.
maybe Trump, but Isreal too? No shot.
