  • From the website:

First, we must recognize that the president (...) responds to one thing: the market. The most potent weapon to resist the administration is a targeted, month-long national economic strike — a coordinated campaign that attacks tech companies and firms enabling ICE — to inflict maximum damage with minimal impact on consumers.

Companies listed (to boycott) include Amazon and Google, yet the Squarespace site uses services from both.

    🤦

  • It was also kind of weird/sad since today is 1 year since my dad died and he would have helped me and kept me from fucking anything up. I’ve helped him and grandpa do this kind of stuff many times growing up so had to channel that energy and power through.

Wholesome. Knowledge getting passed down. Soon you'll be teaching your kid(s).

  • OK, now I get it. My brain was too lazy to even try to decipher "triple entendre".

I'm still amazed by the hyphen. Is there a profession of literal wordsmith that comes up with such things? Probably got fired by DOGE.

  • Thanks for linking the whole album. Very enjoyable.

  • Election experts say that the meeting reflects an intensifying push to persuade Trump to take unprecedented actions to affect the vote in November.

For me this is the first time somebody actually wrote out that other people are pulling Trump's strings.

And they already know that a simple executive order won't be enough this time.

I still maintain that him dying or becoming too frail might end this whole thing because he's the face, even the hero, for his voters, and because there will be a lot of infighting once he's gone. But it might not.

But otoh, "unprecedented actions to affect the vote" has been happening since Trump1.0 and, well, almost since independence day (the term "gerrymandering" is over 200 years old).

Amazing. They actually integrated the hyphen into the acronym. But alas...

The CAN-SPAM Act is occasionally referred to by critics as the "You-Can-Spam" Act because the bill fails to prohibit many types of e-mail spam and preempts some state laws that would otherwise have provided victims with practical means of redress.

  • Yeah, I think that's him.

Ja! Linux, aber mW auch Android-basiertes.

  • With this admin, I always feel chances are equal they A) did it on purposes or B) fucked up again. This sort of ambiguity might be on purpose for whoever decided to let social media influencers run a country.

  • Just AI: Altman Idiocy

  • We will build technical safeguards

after we have unleashed it on the general public and have a clearer picture what to safeguard against.

  • "Move fast and break things kill people"

  • The phrasing is actually non-committal. The promise is too big to mean anything or be actionable. They love to throw hifalutin' shit like that around because it costs them nothing. Never have I heard one of them specify what AI can really do, and how exactly it "serves humanity".

  • Not sure. A middle aged guy (judging from his voice and some hints, I don't think he's actually visible) from some English speaking country.

  • In other news: water is wet.

And on the other hand, Trump now claims that China interfered in the 2020 election. Because Hunter Biden. How to separate fake news from real news? Easy, don't listen to the MAGA admin.
