Elon Musk’s popularity with the American public is waning, according tothe latest polling average from Nate Silver’s Silver Bulletin. The billionaire CEO of multiple companies wears many hats, but the most visible one of late has been as the face of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an organization that has been tearing through the US government administrative state.

Silver Bulletin’s average shows that 53.5 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of Musk, and only 39.6 percent of Americans see him favorably. His unpopularity is way up since the beginning of 2024 when only 38 percent of people disliked him, according to the site’s tracker. Silver writes that

Just stumbled on the uap.guide website once again after some time. I just looked through all of the quotes of ex-military people and politicians saying that UAP exist. After reading all of these, how can people not believe that UAP are real?

Kelly told the New York Times that Trump meets the definition of a fascist and also said he observed the former president on multiple occasions praising Adolf Hitler.

Thirteen former Trump White House officials signed an open letter backing up former Trump chief of staff John Kelly, who told the New York Times that Trump fits the definition of a fascist.

"We applaud General Kelly for highlighting in stark details the danger of a second Trump term. Like General Kelly, we did not take the decision to come forward lightly," the letter said. "We are all lifelong Republicans who served our country. However, there are moments in history where it becomes necessary to put country over party. This is one of those moments."

Trump’s 270-page dossier of JD Vance’s ‘vulnerabilities’ hacked by Iran

Politico reports that it was sent communications from inside the Trump campaign, including Sen. J.D. Vance’s (R-OH) 271-page vetting file, allegedly by an Iranian hacker.

The outlet said that it has been receiving anonymous emails containing internal communications from the Trump campaign. The campaign acknowledged the authenticity of the communications on Saturday, accusing “foreign sources hostile to the United States,” for leaking them.

Democrats are Learning All the Wrong Lessons about Immigration Messaging

The Democrats flipped the seat recently held by pathological liar, former GOP House member, current Cameo star George Santos, NY-03. And to hear many pundits tell it, the key to victory for Democrats lies in...talking like Republicans on immigration. It's not just NPR, either. Politico, the New York Times, the Washington Post...the pundit class has reached near unanimity that the path to electoral victory for Team Blue runs over immigrant communities. It's disgustingly misguided, both morally and electorally.

A pro-life political organization obtained mobile phone location data from a broker and used it to target people who had visited 600 abortion clinics across the country with advertisements, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) announced Tuesday.

Wyden is now calling on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to quickly take action against the data broker, Near Intelligence, and ensure the privacy of the patients whose data was exploited is protected, according to a letter he sent to the agencies.

The senator began investigating the company last year, in the wake of a Wall Street Journal report revealing that the pro-life Veritas Society had used cell phone location data Near shared with online advertisers to target people visiting Wisconsin Planned

The decision follows allegations that some UNRWA workers were involved in the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel carried out by Palestinian militant group Hamas.

The actual tweet:

A US judge has allowed four persons who visited whistleblower and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange while he was residing in the Ecuadorian embassy in London to continue their legal battle against the CIA, which was launched in the summer of 2022.

The four – journalists John Goetz and Charles Glass, as well as attorneys Margaret Ratner Kunstler and Deborah Hrbek – allege that the agency spied on them during the visits.

District Court Judge John Koeltl made this decision in response to the CIA asking the Manhattan court to dismiss the case.

We obtained a copy of the decision for you here (PDF).

The filing accuses the spies of gaining access to data copied from their phones without their knowledge, and Judge Koeltl agreed that, if this occurred, it was an act of unconstitutional privacy violation, therefore representing sufficient grounds for the lawsuit to proceed.

In a coup for the dark and damp, bats and mushrooms get their moment in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Deep in the shuttered gold mines that defined California’s beginnings there live colonies of golden-hued mammals that could come to define the state’s future: the once-humble Pallid bat.

Chiroptera enthusiasts have been working to get a state bat on the books since at least 2017, but the movement kicked into high gear this year when a 12-year-old from Los Angeles began a well-connected lobbying campaign to elevate the Pallid bat to icon status.

Over half of North America’s 154 bat species are at risk of population decline in the next 15 years, and yet the Pallid bat — which eats scorpions and drinks cactus water — is surviving. It’s on the state’s list of mammals to watch, but is not endangered or threatened.

Still, middle-schooler Naomi D’Alessio wants to make sure the flying mammals are protected for years to come. So she began lobbying state Sen. Caroline Menjivar (D-Panorama City) to author the bat bill, CA SB732 (23R), this year after recording bat call
