Completely ridiculous online 1v1 shooter STRAFTAT added a Linux version
STRAFTAT originally launched in October 2024, and just recently the developer added a Linux version. It's a completely ridiculous competitive 1v1 online shooter with quick rounds and lots of weapons.
I've been playing this through proton for awhile now, and it's a lot of fun. 1v1 death matches are really intense, and the game has a huge variety of maps and weapons.
The monetization is great too, completely free with an optional $5 dlc that adds more maps and hats.
Veiled Edge - cyberpunk action platformer
Veiled Edge is in early access right now, but there's a demo available and I really enjoyed it so I'm hoping they'll be able to finish the game. The gameplay reminds me a lot of Sanabi but instead of a grappling hook for movement, Veiled Edge uses a teleportation mechanic.
The game currently has a Kickstarter active but it looks like they're pretty terrible at marketing their own game so I don't think many people will find it. I'm not too optimistic about the kickstarter succeeding but I hope they'll still be able to finish the game even if it fails.
Anyway, if you like 2D platformers like Sanabi, I highly recommend at least trying the demo.

For FF7 Rebirth, the desktop download is 144GB but the Deck download is a significantly reduced 88GB.

Microsoft hypes another generative AI model but doesn't really explain how it'll help developers
The model will apparently 'support gameplay ideation and pave the way for future, novel, AI-based game experiences.'
Microsoft says it has developed a new generative AI model that can produce "complex gameplay sequences."
The Xbox maker's Research Game Intelligence team debuted the World and Human Action Model (WHAM), which it has nicknamed Muse, earlier today and described it as a "generative AI model of a video game that can generate game visuals, controller actions, or both."
