[Verse 1: 2Pac]
Annotation:
Huey P. Newton, the founder of the Black Panthers, was shot dead by a drug dealer in Oakland in 1989 at the age of 47.
Reports say there were three shots.
2Pac’s parents were active members of the Black Panther Party. Also refers to the FBI’s history of targeting and monitoring Black and other supposed revolutionary figureheads and implementing strategies to eliminate them by smearing their public image—or worse, assassinating them. You only have to look at their sister organisation the CIA, who have repeatedly instigated coups and assassinations of International leaders.

Eminem - White America

[Intro]
Annotation:
Eminem released this album when the “War on Terror” was in full swing and patriotism was high. A lot of the rhetoric used to invade Afghanistan and Iraq was that terrorists attacked because they hated freedom, and that soldiers were dying to protect freedom.
Not only does this view fall badly to scrutiny, but raving about freedom is quite absurd when the country was simultaneously attempting to censor artists such as Eminem.
Note: Em uses iambic meter in this intro, that is, patte
Eminem - Smack You (Suge Knight & Ja Rule Diss)

“Smack You” is a no holds barred diss track aimed at Suge Knight with the occasional shot at Ja Rule. The clapback starts with a short but powerful sample of 2Pac’s “Bomb First (My Second Reply),” accusing Suge for the murder of Pac and Biggie.
What follows are two cutthroat verses which are backed by sporadic adlibs courtesy of Em’s daughter, Hailie Jade. This provocative track was kept in the vault for nearly 20 years until it got leaked in January of 2025.^[[1] https://genius.com/Eminem-smack-you-lyrics]

Earlier this week, social media lit up with buzz about the leak of a 20-year-old Eminem diss track against Ja Rule and Suge Knight, “Smack You,” along with a handful of other demos. However, in a response from Eminem’s longtime spokesperson, Interscope Publicity Chief Dennis Dennehy, it sounds like Em is more frustrated by the leaks than enthused by their recept

Murder Was the Case is a 1994 short film and soundtrack album starring Snoop Doggy Dogg. The 18 minute film was directed by Dr. Dre and Fab Five Freddy and chronicles the fictional death of Snoop Dogg and his resurrection after making a deal with the Devil. August Alsina - Song Cry (Official Music Video)

Edit: music length and tags
In “Song Cry,” August Alsina reflects on the pains that fame can’t fix—including the death of his brother. It contains echoes of Jay Z’s 2003 song of the same name, as well the 2004 Lyfe Jennings song “Cry”. Lyfe Jennings has always been one of August’s inspirations; covers of Lyfe Jennings that August uploaded when he was just 14 years old can still be seen on August’s youtube page.
In October 2015, August released a YouTube trailer for “Song Cry,” subtitled “This Thing Called Life”
- Sometimes I cried, and cried, and cried…
- There’s so much pain that lies within mine eyes
- like my brother’s tragic demise
- These tears I just can’t hide"
He also says he doesn’t even speak with his mother anymore, that fame can’t fix his pain, and that his family has become divided.
“Song Cry” has little in common with the New Orleans crooner’s last single, “Why I Do It”. With lots of weeping guitar, “So

This song tells about the business of drug dealing and all the problems that are related to drugs from both the junkie’s and the dealer’s perspective. It also describes a girl who is willing to do anything for drugs.
This early Dr. Dre beat prominently samples the “Funky Worm” by Ohio Players.
MACKLEMORE - HIND'S HALL
Alt. link: MACKLEMORE - HIND'S HALL (AUDIO ONLY) [02:48] https://youtu.be/wmg6vbt04TY
“HIND’S HALL” was released by Macklemore through social media on 6 May 2024.
The track broadly addresses the State of Israel’s attack on Palestinians in Gaza which began in October 2023. The attack, which has caused tens of thousands of casualties, overwhelmingly civilian, has been widely characterised as genocidal, including as plausibly amounting to genocide by the ruling of the International Court of Justice in South Africa v Israel.
More narrowly, the track addresses the 2024 encampment movement which took shape around the world in protest of other states' response, or lack of response, to the Israeli attack. Macklemore, who is based in the United States, particularly criticises US institutions' coercive, brute-force, often militarised response to student protesters using their (nominally) guaranteed rights to free speech.
The song is named in reference to Hind’s Hall, a building at C
