Does anyone know how I can unlock oneplus 7 Pros bootloader. I want to switch to lineageOs but am failing at that step during the install

::: spoiler original Post Things I have tried so far:

• enable  OEM unlock in developer settings and then using fastboot to unlock it. That fails with an error message (known issue on android 12, other threads reccomens downgrading to 11).
• using an inoffical firehose client. I don't know what the issue was. There was no relevant error in the output, even in debugging mode (though I suspect it is the same issue as above).

edit: from what I saw the unbrick tools mentioned below doing it seems like someone with more knowledge might be able to flash the correct images onto the correct partitions using that tool (although it is very buggy, I needed to change a bit of the python code to even get it going without throwing errors)

Hi,

I recently bought a pixel 7a on ebay, which I have installed GrapheneOS on. Sadly, the device doesn't detect the sim.

I tried restarting the device, resetting the mobile network settings and reinserting the sim.

Now I read that providers can carrier lock devices, which I didn't know was a thing. 😅🫠 Since the device was originally part of a contract I'm worried that it is locked.

How can I check for this? All the tutorials I found were for Android and didn't work on graphene.

Edit: checked in with the provider, they don't lock phones. What other reasons could there be for the Sim not working?

Before degoogling I was able to have a (slow) conversation with people I don't share a language with. I could speak into my phone and it could give out speech in their language.

Is there any chance to set this up without using Google apps or MicroG? I do have RHVoice installed but don't know how to proceed from here. Thanks for any and all advice!

Edit: Thank you for the suggestions! A combination of Deepl and the OpenAI Whisper Keyboard works for me.

It says my instance needs to have API access enabled but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do that. Anyone done this before or know how to do it?
