Is this a growing product market? Will this lower the barrier to entry for less technical communities, much like the wave of turn-key WordPress hosting solutions did for the general public starting in the mid 2000s?

Looks like there are instance options for Mastodon, Lemmy, but not yet Kbin:

Does anyone know of similar competitors to Elestio in this sub-market?

  • One click ActivityPub instances make a lot of sense for a light version of Mastodon. Many people with their own domains would prefer micro-blogging with their own domain names instead of relying on someone elses instance. If fediverse reaches mainstream, managed, light micro-blogging could be a good product for these providers.

  • Communick is offering Lemmy and Mastodon hosted instances.

    • Thanks for the link! Could you explain the difference between Managed Hosting vs Available Packages? The former is for admining your own entire Lemmy instance, while the later is for having an account without having to admin an instance? Perhaps the service marketing page could use a little more context to clarify if those are complementary or mutually exclusive service plans.

Exactly. I first started Communick only as a provider of the "communick.com" instances, the offering of managed hosting is somewhat recent.

I definitely to improve the marketing page, and I hope I can get some time soon to start adding more to the documentation pages.

  • That would be nice! I don't foresee it immediately, but if Lemmy keeps growing like this, then absolutely.
