one of the maintainers says hi.

hello everyone, I'm one of the maintainers, mostly involved with osx and the settings. just joined the community with a fresh account.

I will try to be active so that we can get this community going, it would be nice to be present on a federated service such as lemmy. it seems like the creator is not around anymore so that might become a pain at some point, but we'll see.

That is not a problem. You can request to be assigned as a mod for this community and the community to be transferred to you (I would highly encourage you to do so) by making a post at [email protected] community. See one of the previous posts there if necessary. Already done (See @[email protected]'s comment). This is the official way to achieve it normally, though.

What is prioritized in the development of librewolf right now?
- main stuff that I'm aware of:
  revamped website and docs. we have a contributor doing a wonderful job, one of the maintainers even bought a new domain, it's very very nice. I'm rewriting some descriptions and docs, including a more in depth feature list finally.
  a better build script that works across multiple linux distros (tho I'm not contributing to that so I don't have details).
  other stuff going on lately:
  a bunch of changes in the settings, the changelog is rather extensive lol, but imho our setup is looking very good right now.
  we are reconsidering ipv6 and mozilla tracking protection.
  a while ago we started working on a librewolf specific part of the UI, where some additional settings are exposed. unfortunately on that front development kinda stagnated lately :-(
  I remember something about dir organization on linux and also a new debian release (now that they updated upstream firefox there), but I couldn't find the links.
  next on the roadmap I would like to see us introducing crlite by default, it should be rather easy.

Once again i am trying to make LibreWolf work for me by trying to set up KeePassXC and, once again, am tempted to give up. For me, this login-password issue is what makes me less likely to open up LibreWolf. I may need to try Bitwarden.
- What is the problem with KeePassXC? I use KeePassXC with LibreWolf and everything works just fine.
  
  I use the appimage, but just now when trying to install the deb, saw that i have that, too. (the browser ext. said I was using an outdated version and I was). I have the most popular FF extension for it, KeePassXc-Browser. I can see the KeePass symbol by the login and can see that I manually entered that login, password, URL in a group name in my .kdbx file. But, when I click on the logo in the login in area, it still makes me type in both login and password. Also, I am rather confused about how to organize (if I need to) my groups (I use 4 IDs online) since I use 2 PCs and the browser extension asked me to enter a title for each PC used. I am still not sure if everyone needs to use that extension, but it seems the only way. I began by using one file for each ID, then when that didn't seem to work well, i went to one master file with 4 groups. Also, it seems the file may time out periodically and need to be reopened - that is what the browser extension seems to say. That means shutting down the app on my PC and logging into it again - almost as annoying as logging into each site - depending on how often I change sites, I guess.
