Would you spend close to $30,000 for a chance to rub shoulders with those in charge of WA? Those with cash to splash have been doing just that β and many donations can remain hidden due to a legal loophole.
Ah, the ol cash for access scheme.
It'll be interesting to see the effects the new donations laws will have on donor behaviour. I expect there'll be some more transparency but the 'cash for access' will carry on in some less obvious form.
Maybe severely overpriced Labor, Liberal, and Nationals coffee mugs! $8000 for a meet and greet with the mugs artwork designer, who also happens to be the premier. ;p
