How to clean salt/dirt out of car seats

Hey folks,

Looking for tips on what will get salt and dirt from snowy boots out of the back of a car seat? I tried just some warm water and cloth to pat it out but when it dries it comes back so curious what substances/products you use to break down white chalky residue that keeps coming back.
