A great hike up to a fantastic viewpoint located at the Northeast corner of Lake Tahoe, with a great view of the Nevada side of the lake. I did it with snowshoes and it appears to get heavy usage by cross-country skiers during the winter months. Good sunset viewing, although be prepared for temperature drop once the sun sets.

The sky changes from blue (top) to yellowish orange at sunset with Lake Tahoe visible on the left of frame and a snowy scene in the lower and right of frame couched in the darkness.

Snow may be seen along the ground and on the hillsides leading down to the lake on the left.

A friendly gnome serves as a guide among the snowpack with snow covered pines around the frame. This was a few days before St Patrick's Day, so likely there was a cross country race that the gnome was a marker for, as it also held the Irish flag.
