Despite a less than stellar season, it now looks like Manchester City is on track to qualify directly for next year's Champions League with a fifth place finish.
While I personally find it laughable that a supposed "Champions" League includes a full quarter of a top national league, this is only the next logical step towards a closed shop system for the megaclubs in my opinion.
